Physical barriers such as automatic gates are a core product range offered by Interphone and have an important role in providing safety and security for residential and office blocks.

Following several fatalities involving electronic gates and children, The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) issued a safety bulletin in February 2010 stressing the requirement on the owners and managers of such gates to ensure suitable and sufficient risk assessments of gates are in place. This reinforces the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC which came into force on the 29th December 2009 and requires gate system manufacturers to comply with the safety requirements of the directive.

At Interphone we can offer maintenance contracts for most systems. Checks are carried out twice a year in line with manufactures recommendations (one maintenance inspection and one safety check).
